Who is Akbar ?

Abu-Fat Jalal-ud-Din Muhammad Akbar , son of Emperor Humayun's , also known as Akbar the Great and the first Akbar, was the third Mughal emperor who ruled from 1556 to 1606 .

Who is Birbal ?

Birbal was a adviser minister and main army commander of Emperor Akbar's royal court , He was appointed by Akbar . He was also known for his wit .

Today we shall read some famous stories of Akbar and Birbal .

        The story of Birbal and the guard

Once upon a time  Birbal came to the front door of Emperor Akbar's palace because Emperor Akbar invited him come to the royal court . He came to the front door of the palace and saw that the guard was taking money from the people to meet the emperor. When Birbal request to the guard for permission to enter, the guard said that if he want to enter that he would have to pay a coin. Birbal said that the emperor had called him for reward and he promised half of his reward will be give to the guard.

 Then he entered and the emperor recognized him because he helped him in a danger. The emperor welcome Birbal and said ,” what do you want, I want to give you something” . Birbal said I want to get whipped fifty times. Everyone in the royal court was surprised to hear about Birbal. The emperor asked to Birbal , reason of this fifty time  whipped . Then Birbal told the emperor that guard had wanted  half of the reward. The emperor called to the guard and asked him , you are entitle half of the Birbal's reward  ? Then guard agrees to the greed of receiving the gift and then the emperor understands everything.  The emperor punished guard and praised Birbal's intelligence and bravery.

Once upon a time the emperor decided , he will be ridicule of Birbal . The emperor suddenly laughed and told Birbal in front of all the loyal court ministers that he had seen a dream at night, in a dream Birbal and the emperor went for a walk. They were going through the middle of two ponds. There was a toilet pond and a milk pond. As they walked  fell into two ponds. The emperor fell into the milk pond and Birbal fell into the toilet pond. Everyone in the royal court laughed.

 Then Birbal said , “I have seen  remaining of the dream”. Birbal said that their body was full of dirt in the dream , they were worried about where to clean it because there was no pond nearby. Then they decide would lick each other for clean up and they licked each other body. Everyone in the royal court laughed again. The emperor learned  proper lesson of his ridicule.

3. One of the famous Akbar and Birbal stories for kids in english . 

        The story of Oil seller and Butcher

One day an oil seller and a meat seller came to the royal court for justice . The oil seller said , "the butcher was claiming my money's bag as his own". Then the butcher said," O merciful emperor, that is my money bag ". Then the emperor gave the responsibility of this justice to Birbal.

 Birbal wanted a pot of water and threw the bag of money into the pot . Then he told to the emperor that the owner of the bag had been found. The emperor saw oil flowing in the water. So it is the oil seller's bag because he could touch oil in the bag while selling oil and taking money. Butcher was scared and admitted that this bag was not his. On hearing this, the emperor punished butcher  and rewarded Birbal for his wit .
